If you’re in NYC next weekend, join our friend — the legendary Boo Reiners — as he performs with Demolition String Band at Schoolapalooza, a benefit for the Children’s Workshop School!
Being a member of Amplifying Education Alternative Break Tour in Europe is one of the experiences that has defined who I am as a person. The relationships I created are ones that will last a lifetime. Meeting DISPATCH was incredible. But the experience that I will keep in my heart forever was the joy in the eyes of the children we volunteered for with City Year London. Giving through building relationships and creating art is exactly the kind of work that I hope to do for the rest of my life, no matter what my future career may be.
Childhood bullying can have have lifelong impact, leading to depression, anxiety, substance abuse and even suicide. We have the power to prevent it, if we take action.
Dispatch and Amplifying Education are looking for twelve service-minded fans (21+) who want to tour and volunteer with them on the Circles Around the Summer Alternative Break Tour. ABTers will travel with the band through Tennessee, Alabama and Arkansas from May 28th to June 1st, volunteering at local schools during the day and catching Brad, Chad & Pete on stage each night. In October, Alternative Break Tour volunteers teamed up with Playworks before DISPATCH’s show in Minneapolis. Check out this video about how Playworks improves the well being of students by focusing on play. Please join us in congratulating Playworks CEO and founder, Jill Vialet, who is the 2013 recipient of the James Irvine Foundation Leadership Award!
Before DISPATCH’s shows at Red Bull Arena (2011) and Radio City Music Hall (2012), Amplifying Education partnered with Jersey Cares, spending the day volunteering at an elementary school in Newark. We recently received thank you notes from the students there! DISPATCH will be hitting the road again with more service projects across the U.S. this summer, so find a project near you!
